“It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.”
If you’re anything like me, fear, doubt, and unrealistic expectations take the passenger seat in your life, daily. It took me years to realize the narrative I wrote long ago didn’t serve me anymore. It took darkness, brokenness, strength, and most importantly Jesus to understand just how precious life really is.
I chose the name Strength In Light for many reasons.
- Strength: Synonyms: courage, toughness, vigor, health, energy, moxie.
- Light:Synonyms: Luminous, rich, clear, radiant, glowing, ablaze.
As women, we were created with an abundance of strength, for centuries we’ve been taught how to keep that strength hidden, fit in, follow the “rules”, play small. It’s not until we are willing to challenge the status quo, work hard enough, and truly discover the light within, that we can know ourselves, be ourselves, and reach our full potential.
My hopes with Strength In Light is that it empowers each and every one of you to put in the work to love and understand the body you have, gain full confidence in what your body can do, and feel like a complete badass while doing it. We are capable of so much more than we let ourselves believe, it’s time to unleash that power.
